- Do you recommend the groin kick for beginners?

Yes. The groin kick is an excellent kick to learn for beginner self defense practitioners. In my How To Kick Someone Program we start with the groin kick because it's relatively easy to learn yet extremely effective when used properly.

- What are the benefits of the groin kick?

  • it's relatively easy to learn
  • it's lightning fast
  • it's surprising
  • it attacks the weakest part of the body
  • the groin kick can neutralize even big and strong attackers
  • it's a perfect preemptive strike
  • it makes your adversary drop his hands (even if you miss the groin)
  • the groin kick can be followed with very effective street fighting combinations

- What are the drawbacks of the groin kick?

  • you can only use it at the beginning of a combo
  • it doesn't do much damage if you miss the groin

- Isn't the groin kick for girls only?

In movies you can often see women kicking men in the groin. But it's not a kick for women only. In reality, the groin kick is a highly effective weapon of seasoned street fighters. A properly placed groin kick can instantly neutralize even big and strong opponents. Do not ever think that it's only for girls!

- When is the best time to launch the groin kick?

The groin kick is the best kick to start a combo with. As you can see in my video above, I also start my street fighting combination with the groin kick. I like to start my street fighting combinations with the groin kick because I can crush the balls of my adversary and make him drop his hands at the same time. A correctly executed groin kick can open his defense and make it easy for me to shower his undefended upper body with more punching combinations.

- Why is the groin kick banned from martial arts?

Simply because it could end the fight within seconds. The groin area is extremely sensitive and full of nerve endings. Even a moderate kick can cause severe pain, making the fighter unable to continue the fight. The groin is one of the weakest spots on any fighter's body. No fighter can train his groin to make it stronger and endure powerful kicks and knees.

- What is the "iron egg" skill?

Some Shaolin monks possess the so called "iron egg" skill. With years of practice, they developed the skill of being able to pull their testicles up into the pelvis at will, making them invulnerable to groin kicks. The only drawback of this technique is that they usually need 20-30 seconds to "get ready", so the iron egg skill is completely useless in a street fight.

- Can I sterilize a man with a groin kick?

Yes. If you kick the groin in the right angle with sufficient power, you can rupture the testicles and potentially sterilize your adversary. To be able to do that however, you have to be pretty accurate with your groin kick and force the testicles to hit the pubic bone and crush them with your foot at the same time. You can achieve such power and precision by strenuous practice on a Body Opponent Bag for example. I will show you how to do it if you sign up for my How To Kick Someone Program at the top of this page. Don't worry, it's FREE! Learn to fight with me and I'll teach you how to launch groin kicks that will make your attackers cry from pain!

- How much power do I need for the groin kick?

The groin kick is more about precision and speed than raw power. Of course, you will need enough power to crush his balls but if you miss your target, even a powerful groin kick won't do much damage. A groin kick that lands off target is almost completely ineffective. My advice is even if you miss your target, don't stop. Even an unsuccessful groin kick can make your assailant drop his hands, offering you a very good opportunity to punch him in the face and follow up with a knockout combination. To learn how to launch such a combination, please check out my How To Knock Someone Out Program.

- What shall I do after I released the groin kick?

When your groin kick lands, you have to observe your assailant's reactons in a split second. Is he dropping his hands? Is he leaning forward? Is he trying to catch your leg? Is he trying to counter-attack? In most cases, he will drop his hands and lean forward. This is a perfect situation where you can throw a palm heel strike and folow up with a devastating punching combination or you can simply knee him in the head and bring the confrontation to an end. The bottom line is, observe your adversary and act accordingly to his reactions. If your groin kick was successful, you have a very good chance to win the fight within a few seconds.

- Can I knock someone out with a groin kick?

Yes, it's very much possible. Your assailant can get blacked out or momentarily paralyzed after the groin kick but such things always happen well after the kick has landed. It usually takes a few seconds for the pain to flood all over the body of your assailant. Sometimes people can feel the real effect of the groin kick only 2-6 seconds after the kick has landed. So you better not just stand there waiting for your assailant to collapse. Keep the pressure on and punish him with powerful punches and kicks!
